About Rice Village, Houston, Texas

Since 1930's, Rice Village has been a darling destination for Houston shoppers, and has grown into a uniquely charming, animated park-and-walk, something-for-everyone "the Village" where people - from college kids to professionals to out-of-towners - come to trade, shop, hang out, or just to visit their favorite beauty salon and spa.

Wikipedia refers to Rice Village as a collection of shops, restaurants and pubs, situated just West of Rice University's campus in a 10-block area defined by University Boulevard, Kirby Drive, Rice Boulevard, and Morningside Drive. Myth Salon & Day Spa, then, would be sitting right in the center of this premier commercial hub, a vibrantly attractive yet smooth blend of old and new structures of modern trendy shops and old-town boutiques. Rice Village Online website has a good interactive map albeit stale - for example, you'd get an obsolete list of businesses when putting the mouse over the South East corner of Times Blvd. and Kelvin St in the map. The correct list as of December 2008 is, Miss Saigon Cafe, Rice Oriental Carpet, Myth Salon & Day Spa, and Yum Yum Cha Cafe.
